Repeat Prescriptions

Please follow the guidelines and choose the right option for you.

Please allow us 48 hours (two working days), to process your prescription request. From 1st May 2025, this will be within 3 working days.

We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.

Ordering a Repeat Prescription

When you order a prescription online, you can have it sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination.

Use Online Services

The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

Using your NHS account

Our GP online system

These accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.

Your Local Pharmacy

Pharmacy Ordering / Collection Service

Pharmacies offer a prescription collection service from our Practice

Your pharmacy can also order your medication on your behalf. This saves you time and unnecessary visits to the Practice. Please contact the Pharmacy of your choice for more information if you wish to use this service.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

In Person

You can order in person by returning the right-hand side of a previous prescription for the required medications.

Alternatively, you may submit a handwritten request, including the patient’s name, date of birth, and the medication needed. You can also place orders on behalf of someone else.

When we are closed, please use the dedicated letterbox on right hand side of the front door.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you need to speak to someone about your prescription, please book a phone call with a member of our pharmacy team.

Medication Reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

If you repeatedly ignore requests for a medication review, your prescription may be issued for a shorter duration.

What to do with old medicines
